Welcome to my interior design blog. I am a classicist, lover of all things historical, timeless and classic (like details Greeks and Romans developed), the architecture down to every detail that goes into making a home. I want to keep classic design alive by sharing it with you and hope you grow to love classic details too. I love to show how to live beautifully but it has been a challenge for me to put it in writing so here goes my first blog post. I can sew a dress without a pattern but I cannot write! I'm the girl who got a hernia at 6 years old because I moved all of the furniture in the house around-constantly. I pushed my huge dresser with mirror attached and the matching twin beds to different sides of the room till it suited my fancy while maintaining "my space/your space sister" (thanks Tiffy for putting up with that!). I had a pursuit of beautiful spaces and I know it drove my family crazy!
6 years old with a furniture placement induced hernia, while pouring over the Parade of Homes catalog studying floor plans there was no doubt I was going to be a designer. I wanted to renovate my childhood home so badly. When we got the chance, my husband and I purchased the home from my parents and gutted it! We made it beautiful by adding timeless details and it was such full circle satisfaction.
This is the kitchen from my childhood now with a functional layout and beautiful cabinets my husband built and below you'll see it during demo:

There's passion in my soul to make things beautiful, I have a passion to help others live beautifully too. Follow along while we discover what makes your space feel special and beautiful. Classic marble, inset cabinets and an antique wood top island are details that made a 70's kitchen timeless. Thank you for reading and I hope you come back to learn more.
Best Wishes,
Tara
